Velcro Mom

OK, so I have never claimed to be mom of the year! But, do you ever have days where you just think that you have to be doing something wrong, because your kids just seem to be driving you crazy? I feel so bad when I think things like that, but the truth is - they really are! I have 2 little girls who seem to think they need to be physically attached to me at all times, and at the same time, they both think they don't need to listen to a word I am saying.
In case you hadn't figured it out, yes, I am having a bad day! It just gets so exhausting to never be able to get away from them. When we go somewhere, they are stuck to me like velcro. And, I always start wondering what people must think! I mean really, I feel like my kids have no social skills! I realize that because of me staying home with them, they haven't had the chances to play with other kids as much, so I do feel guilty about that. I'm just getting tired I guess. It would probably be easier if Shawn was home a bit more, but that just isn't going to happen any time soon, so I need to figure out how to get them unlatched from me.
Oh well, I know the day will come when they won't want me anywhere near them, but I sure would like to find somewhere in between for now!

You aren't alone. Remember I am a working mom and my kids used to do the same thing because when I was with them, they wanted me totally to themselves. So if we went out as a family, they wouldn't leave my side either. This doesn't just happen with kids who get to stay at home all the time. It's just their way of saying they love us. And trust me, all too soon they won't even care where you are. (don't get me wrong, my kids still really love to cuddle - thank goodness)
