Merry Christmas!

Well, 2 more days until Christmas! I have just finished wrapping all my gifts, it took forever because I am what you would call "wrapping challenged". Now, I just have to get my house clean - why, I don't know! You just feel that your house should be clean for Christmas, even though it will only last about 5 minutes until the first gift is opened!

But, I would like to use this post to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I hope that you all get to spend time with loved ones, and make some wonderful memories. Try not to worry about the small things - just enjoy the holidays. And, I hope that everyone has only the best in 2007.

To all you moms - cherish the wonder with your children. And if they are past the age of believing, don't ever stop making new traditions. Give them something they can pass on down through the years, and something they can always have memories of. I know I have some wonderful memories of Christmases when I was a kid, and I am determined that my children will have the same. Christmas is a great time to celebrate being a mom.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

The Countdown To Christmas!

One more week til Christmas Eve!! I am so excited! I am looking so forward to this Christmas now that both girls are at an age to enjoy it. Amy won't really have a clue what is going on, as she is only 1 1/2, but she will still have fun. Last year, she was just starting to sit up on her own, and I really don't think she got much out of all of it. Morgan is pretty excited. She is at a great age. The belief is still so strong, and the wonder of all of it is seen in her eyes when she talks about Christmas and Santa. We built a gingerbread house the other day, and will be making gingerbread men this week for them to leave for Santa. Funny how Christmas can make you start doing things you don't normally do - such as baking, in my case! Well, I hope you have all finished your shopping and wrapping so that you can enjoy the last week before Christmas. If you haven't, try not to get to overwhelmed and frustrated with finding the perfect gift. Just remember to enjoy this time, and look forward to your time with family and friends. That is what it is really all about, not the gifts.

Visit With Santa

Well, Christmas shopping was a success! I am all done, except for a couple of stocking stuffers. It feels so good to be done! I know that I probably spent more than I should have, and we will be eating beans and bread for the next month, but I can't help it. I just love Christmas, and the whole process of it! It is the one time of the year when I can spoil my kids, and nieces and nephews, and not feel guilty about it.
We had a visit from Santa himself this weekend at the hall in town. The night before, I told Morgan that he was coming and asked if she would like to go see him. I was so surprised when she said yes! (Remember, she is afraid of pretty much everyone, especially men!) I figured by morning she would change her mind, but she still insisted she wanted to go. (She even came into my room before 7:00 to tell me that the neighbors were already leaving to go see Santa!).
As we stood in line to see him, she was shaking so bad, I actually had to lean down and hold her for awhile to try getting her to stop! But, up she went, got on his knee, told him her name, and asked for her white Doctor coat (like Dr. Dreamy, as she calls him). I was so unbelievably proud of her!! This is the same girl who had such a hard time starting school, afraid of her uncle Bruce, afraid of any men really.....I couldn't believe it. Amy wouldn't even go near him. She stood looking at him saying "Ho, Ho, Ho", but then he waved to her, and that was it! She was gone, wanting to go "home...home...home..." Oh, they are wonderful!

Taking a Break!

I figured I better make a post as I am going to be away for a couple of days. I am going into Winnipeg to start my Christmas shopping. Normally, I don't get to do that, but it just happens that my husband needs some work done on his truck, so I am tagging along! He just got home today after being gone for 3 weeks. So, I am using the time to get some badly needed rest!
Amy is adjusting fairly well to her new bed. She still doesn't stay asleep though. I don't know what I am going to do! If I leave her, she bangs on the door SCREAMING, and I don't want Morgan to be losing out on her sleep too. (Luckily, she doesn't hear much when she is asleep!) I keep hoping it will get better, because Morgan used to bew THE WORST sleeper, but now she is great! All I do is say "Time for bed" and she goes. She reads to her "animals" for awhile, then lays down and goes to sleep until morning. I will be on my knees praying everyday for Amy to end up the same way!
Now I know that some of you (Rhonda) are going to have something to say, but I am already missing my kids! I know it is going to be so hard to leave them tomorrow! And, Morgan won't make it easy. It's funny how you just can't wait to have a break from the kids, but when you actually get it, you end up missing them so badly! I know I have something wrong with me, I can't help it!

Great Gift Idea for Moms!

Today I received an email from Christine Steendahl from "Dine Without Whine", which I have mentioned here before. I think it is a great idea for moms, which is why I bring it up again. She is now offering Lifetime Memberships for $85.00, which is 50% off! She is only able to offer this until December 7th, so don't hesitate! If you know of any moms who could use some extra help, this could be a great Christmas gift! If you are interested, be sure to use the coupon code CDA28A.
I think today me and the girls will be writing our letters to Santa. It is just so exciting! I don't know WHAT to ask for this year! Maybe I could just be like Morgan, who told her Uncle Kevin the other day, that she just "wanted everything for Christmas, but no clothes!" Pretty much covers all areas, doesn't it?
